Expedition Photography & Tourism Marketing Around the Globe

Our talented staff photographer has been hired to photograph many adventure expeditions around the world, including a trek to Mount Everest Base Camp, an expedition along the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu in Peru, and a mountaineering expedition to summit Pico de Orizaba the third highest mountain in North America, among others. In addition, he has traveled on assignment to many other countries across the globe including New Zealand, India, the Virgin Islands, London England, Shanghai China, Melbourne Australia, Tokyo Japan, and many various places throughout Canada, Mexico, and Central America.

When a Utah-based non-profit group organized a fundraising expedition to hike to Mount Everest Base Camp, they knew that they needed to take advantage of the opportunity to build awareness of their organization and entice more people to get involved with future fundraising events. So they hired our photographer to accompany them and capture stunning imagery to be used in their public relations and marketing campaigns.

Nepal is an exotic place, rich in culture and surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of the Himalayas. During the two and a half weeks that we spent on the trail, we hiked well over 47,000 vertical feet in total elevation gain and watched the sunrise over Mount Everest from Kala Pathar, a spectacular viewpoint 19,400 feet above sea level. Our photographer was able to capture the essence of the trip by preserving many incredible highlights—frozen moments in time—so that those unique experiences could be relived and appreciated even by those who were not there. The organization was able to raise over $100,000 in cash, and those images have been successful in increasing participation in many subsequent fundraising expeditions.

Another one of the many tourism projects that we have been involved with was a trip to hike the ancient Inca Trail to Machu Pichu. Explore Peru tasked us with photographing one of their tours in order to build an image library for their website and advertising campaigns. Our photographer captured amazing images of tourists hiking through the tropical rainforest along stone pathways built by hand thousands of years ago and exploring the ancient ruins high in the Andes.

Marketing and Branding for the Uintah Conference Center

When Uintah County decided to build a conference center in Vernal Utah, they knew they needed high quality marketing materials to drive traffic to their facility. Because of our track record with other conference centers, they hired us to design their logo, branding, website, brochures, presentation folders, and other marketing materials.

After meeting with them and learning a little about the Vernal area and the goals of the Uintah Conference Center, we realized that there were several distinct elements that needed to be represented: 1) the Dinosaurland identity, 2) the gas, oil, and mining industry, and 3) the outdoor recreation element.

We designed a simple but unique logo that paid homage to all three of these characteristics.

One of their most pressing needs initially was an online presence, so we designed a website that showcased the features and capabilities of the facility. One of the important features that they wanted on the website was an event calendar that they could update frequently with upcoming events. We built a backend admin portal so that their staff could post events to the website and add details about featured events. They have used this feature extensively and have found it very useful and beneficial.

In addition to the branding, website, and printed materials for the conference center, we realized that there was an opportunity to cross-market the conference center and the tourism industry of the Vernal area. The health of both was inseparably connected and could benefit each other. So we created the Meetings With Hidden Adventures campaign. The goal was to entice event planners to book their event at the Uintah Conference Center because of all the recreational opportunities available in the Vernal area, while also encouraging people that were in town for a meeting to take advantage of the location to get out and have some fun while they were there. We designed a fun logo and playful branding elements for this campaign and designed sales sheets for the four main activities that they chose to feature: river rafting, mountain biking, dinosaurs, and fly-fishing.
